How to Install Viber on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS

Install Viber on Ubuntu 20.04

Vibar is available as a .deb package from the official Viber site. You can download and install it. Alternatively, the snap package is also available.

Installation Steps,

Login to Ubuntu and open the terminal and run the below steps to install Viber on Ubuntu,

1. Download Viber using wget command as shown below.

wget https://download.cdn.viber.com/cdn/desktop/Linux/viber.deb

2 Install Viber using the command given below

sudo apt install ./viber.deb

This should starts installation. The installer downloads some packages, so make sure you have good internet speed. Otherwise, it may take time.

Starting Viber

Go to Show Application, search for Viber, and select to start it. This should open the window with a QR code. Now, launch Viber on your phone and scan to QR code to activate the desktop app.

Uninstall Viber

Run the below command to uninstall Viber from your Ubuntu desktop.

sudo apt remove viber
